As an Oncology RN, Yellow Threads Co. founder and CEO Brittany Harvey was concerned that patients often wore baggy and unflattering clothes at a time when they needed to feel beautiful and confident. Surprised to discover that fashion choices for women undergoing cancer treatment were limited, Brittany teamed up with her husband Ashton to form Yellow Threads Co; a company that offers patients shirts that are fashionable and medically functional.
“When I designed the initial prototype the whole goal was to decrease stress and increase self-esteem on treatment day,” says Harvey
In this episode, co-founder Ashton Harvey shares stylish fashion designs that serve the treatment needs of cancer patients as well as other customers requiring chest access. The goals of Brittany, Ashton, and the entire Yellow Threads Co. team is to bring a sense of normalcy into a patients life in a time of confusion and uncertainty.
“Going through chemotherapy or any long-term infusion process is already tough enough,” they said. “We want to make dressing for chemo a positive process. Just because you don’t feel good doesn’t mean you can’t look GREAT!”
